SC21 Becomes NapaLearns
Napa County is fortunate to be the home of some of the most innovative entrepreneurs in the world who not only care deeply about their community, they are also passionate about our children and their future.
Thanks to the vision, leadership and passion from Barry and Tracy Schuler, Napa Valley Unified School District, Auction Napa Valley and a host of hard working volunteers, Student Centered 21st Century Education was launched as a major project at Napa and Vintage High Schools in 2007, integrating the best of what we had learned would work to keep students engaged with technology infused with project based learning. This was a culmination of 16 years of experience with 62 New Technology High Schools across the country.
A small group of enthusiastic visionaries expanded into a large group of visionary leaders who created NapaLearns to not only engage all our students, but engage the entire community in the importance of making our schools the best they can be so that our students can compete successfully in a fast paced technology enhanced world.
NapaLearns was launched in 2010 and broadened SC21 to include American Canyon High School, Valley Oak High School and in late 2011, middle schools and elementary schools with the partnership of other philanthropists.
