Elena Toscano

Elena Toscano has been an educator for 36 years, currently serving as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD). She has also served as an elementary site principal, a high school Dean and as a teacher with many years of classroom experience. As one of the authors of NVUSD’s Project-based Learning Initiative, Toscano is committed to authentic inquiry-based learning experiences for all students with training and coaching for instructors. One of the most exciting projects of her career to date was providing input on the design of NVUSD’s new American Canyon High School. Current projects include establishing virtual learning online classes for credit recovery and expanding electronic supplemental intervention options.
